Platinum Energy Group, although having no affiliation with The Unilux Corporation, has vast experience using their SABR™ products and highly recommends the use of these units when the application is suitable. We have installed many SABR™ units at military installations and housing complexes all over the country with great success and at times used these units as temporary solutions while major repairs were conducted on their centralized boiler plants. These units can be installed on a temporary or permanent basis.
Many housing complexes, that we have had the opportunity to visit, utilize a central boiler plant with underground hydronic piping or steam and condensate piping. Unfortunately when these installations took place 40years ago the insulation technology available was far from perfect. We recently became involved with one particular complex with 110 separate buildings housing from 2 to 8 families in each. They were experiencing huge amounts of lost steam and 100% of condensate losses on top of severe environmental issues. When these underground piping installations began to fail the existing asbestos insulation soon became a major economical factor in the repair efforts, which quickly became cost prohibited.
The solution was rather easy and the payback was phenomenal. With this technology we were able to isolate the more troublesome housing units and quickly place these units online to decentralize these troubled units. This enabled us to isolate the underground supply piping to these areas and ultimately eliminate the need of a much more costly repair.
